Purpose
deasaichThis redirect category (rcat) template sorts redirects into one of two categories:
- Redirects to help namespace – for PNRs and CNRs or
- Redirects to help pages – for help namespace redirects to other help pages
This rcat also populates the following:
- Unprintworthy redirects – only redirects from main-article namespace (mainspace)
- In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in Teamplaid:Diff. Redirects from mainspace that target pages in the help namespace are not suitable for a printed version. In other words they are unprintworthy.
Usage
deasaich- Apply this rcat to a redirect in the following manner:
#REDIRECT {{enUici|Help:(target page name)}} {{Rcat shell| {{R to help namespace}} }}
- and when the redirect is in article mainspace, printworthiness should also be tagged:
#REDIRECT {{enUici|Help:(target page name)}} {{Rcat shell| {{R to help namespace}} {{R unprintworthy}} }}
- Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:
#REDIRECT {{enUici|Help:(target page name)}} {{R to help namespace}}
- This is in accord with instructions found at Wikipedia:REDCAT.
- Use this rcat on all redirects to a page in the help namespace from any redirect, whether it is in the help namespace or not. These redirects will automatically be sorted to two different categories depending upon whether they are inside or outside the help namespace.
